D-Mad Devil is a solo music project by Daichi, an artist based in Osaka, Japan, active since 2018.
Rooted in early 2010s metalcore and post-hardcore, his music blends aggressive riffs, emotional melodies, screams, and catchy yet delicate clean vocals into a sound that carries both intensity and vulnerability.
Inspired by overseas metalcore and post-hardcore, Daichi started D-Mad Devil with his own production style, building songs through DAW-based programming and plugins without relying on a traditional band setup.
In 2019, he released “Giving It Everything (feat. Christian Grey),” a collaboration with Christian Grey, vocalist of the American metalcore band Villain of the Story. Working with Christian became a major turning point for D-Mad Devil, pushing the project further toward the international heavy music scene.
In 2021, D-Mad Devil released the debut EP “One With the Darkness,” establishing the project’s early style built around darkness, emotional intensity, and melodic choruses.
At the end of 2022, the single “Wither” was featured on Spotify’s official playlist “All New Metal,” marking a turning point where D-Mad Devil’s sound began reaching more listeners overseas, especially in countries such as the United States and Germany.
In 2023, Daichi signed with the American record label Theoria Records and released “Who I Am (feat. Christian Grey)” in April. Both the song and its music video marked an even deeper collaboration between Daichi and Christian.
On May 24th, 2024, D-Mad Devil released the first full-length album “Legacy of the Devil.”
The lead track “Legacy,” featuring Randy Pasquarella of If I Were You, was featured on Spotify’s official playlist “All New Metal” and Amazon Music’s official playlist “Fresh Metal,” becoming a culmination of everything D-Mad Devil had built up to that point.
In 2025, Daichi and Christian Grey launched SHINOREI, a cross-continental metalcore/post-hardcore duo between Japan and the United States.
Through SHINOREI, Daichi expanded the heavy music identity he had built with D-Mad Devil into a new form where Japan and America, shadow and light, isolation and impulse collide.
Now, D-Mad Devil is entering a new chapter as a solo project once again.
This new era builds on the intensity of metalcore and post-hardcore while introducing the uplifting energy of anime openings and a renewed sense of storytelling rising from within D-Mad Devil himself.
This is not a return to the past. It is a new form of D-Mad Devil, shaped by everything Daichi experienced through SHINOREI and rebuilt as a renewed expression of his own identity.

D-Mad Devilは、2018年より活動を開始した日本のアーティストDaichiによるソロプロジェクト。
2010年代前半のメタルコア/ポストハードコアに深く影響を受けたサウンドを軸に、激しいリフ、叙情的なメロディ、スクリームとキャッチーで繊細なクリーンボーカルを融合させた楽曲を制作している。
Daichiは、海外メタルコア/ポストハードコアへの強い憧れから、楽器演奏やバンドメンバーに頼らず、DAWとプラグインを用いた独自の制作スタイルでD-Mad Devilを始動させた。
2019年には、アメリカのメタルコアバンドVillain of the StoryのボーカリストChristian Greyとのコラボレーションによる『Giving It Everything (feat. Christian Grey)』をリリース。Christianとの共同制作は、D-Mad Devilが本格的に海外シーンを意識したプロジェクトへ進む大きなきっかけとなった。

2022年末にリリースしたシングル『Wither』は、Spotify公式プレイリスト『All New Metal』に掲載され、D-Mad Devilのサウンドがアメリカ/ドイツ等の海外リスナーにも届き始める転機となった。
2023年には、アメリカのレコードレーベルTheoria Recordsと契約し、同年4月に『Who I Am (feat. Christian Grey)』をリリース。楽曲とミュージックビデオの両面で、Christianとのコラボレーションはさらに本格的なものとなった。
2024年5月24日、D-Mad Devil初のフルアルバム『Legacy of the Devil』をリリース。
アメリカのメタルコアバンドIf I Were YouのRandy Pasquarellaをフィーチャーしたリード曲『Legacy』は、Spotify公式プレイリスト『All New Metal』、Amazon Music公式プレイリスト『Fresh Metal』に選出され、これまでのD-Mad Devilの活動の集大成となった。
2025年にはChristian Greyと共に、日米メタルコア/ポストハードコアデュオ「SHINOREI」を始動。
SHINOREIでは、D-Mad Devilで築いてきた海外メタルコアの感覚をさらに拡張し、日本とアメリカ、影と光、孤独と衝動が交差する新たな音楽表現に挑戦している。SHINOREIについてはこちらをチェック。
そして現在、D-Mad Devilは再びソロプロジェクトとして新たな章へ突入する。
新章では、これまでのメタルコア/ポストハードコアの激しさを土台にしながら、アニメOP的な疾走感、そしてD-Mad Devil自身の内側から立ち上がる物語性を融合。
これは過去への回帰ではなく、SHINOREIを経たDaichiが、D-Mad Devilとして再び自分自身の表現を更新するための新しい姿である。
D-Mad Devilは、ここから新しい形で再び動き出す。
